In order to strengthen the international cooperation and to introduce to wider community the diversity of palm-type plants, Tadulako University in collaboration with AMINEF Fulbright USA has held a training course on Palm Of Sulawesi for 2 days, 23-24 January 2018 at Media Centre of Tadulako University and in Tambing Lake Poso District.

Before officially opening the training course, Vice Rector for Planning & Supervision Division, Prof. Ir. Andi Lagaligo Amar, M.Sc.,Agr.,Ph.D in his speech welcomed one of the keynote speakers, Dr. Andrew Henderson who is an expert researcher on palm plants from New York Botanical Garden, USA. The Vice Rector also delivered his warm gratitude and appreciation to International Office and Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences of Tadulako University as the host of the training. He also expressed his greatest gratitude to all keynote speakers, Dr. Andrew Henderson and Prof. Dr. Ramadanil Pitopang. Moreover, he also emphasized the importance of such trainings in improving the international cooperation and collaboration.

The 2-days training was held in 2 different venues and attended by participants from Tadulako University itself (students and lecturers) and Lore Lindu National Park Centre. In the first day, the participants engaged in several sessions of seminar on palms. While in the second day of the training, the particiants were inivited to visit Tambing lake to have an observation and could identify about various kinds of palm grown in the surrounding of the lake.
